Remember when the X6 came out? My first impressions was okay, it looks good cool! I'm pretty sure most people thought it looked good too. The problem of Practicality versus Design still exists today among peoples perception and i guess you really have to have an open mind about it especially in Malaysia. BMW brought in a whole new term of crossover which even Honda, Suzuki and other car manufacturers had followed on..
Now the thing about it is, What makes any difference from our perception should be towards the Crosscabriolet and Crossover? I see that many judge the book by its cover, especially when they do not take the consideration of what involves in creating such a product or work. Apart from that, there seem to be a shallow mindset btw Malaysian's in terms of art, design , passion and values. By natural instinct, humans or most people around the world would perceive this new term of Crosscabriolet abit radical in terms of styling, and it itself has been judged by looks alone..
Personally, I really have this confident feeling that it's just the beginning for CrossCabriolets to gain popularity in the market even as much as how the public despises it. Most of the time, the crowd seems to be wrong in the end.. Not to mention,i'm am pretty sure there has been Crosscabriolets in the past, but seem to have been forgotten.. or never known. I believe that, even this might be radical, why should being practical always limit us, confine us or just lock us in a box? Watch the Porsche Adverts and you'll understand why. I guess that are one of the reasons why Malaysian's arent ready for the challenge to step up today because of this mentality, limiting their dreams.
There is a new generation coming up, and i believe i am part of it.. So my conclusion? I know the car's weird/ugly/weird but hey, there is potential and don't be too stuck up on being practical all the time if not, Supercars wouldn't have existed in the first place, and you can't afford one.. so.. you've got the money? the ideas? the passion? then let's do it..
